Welcome To Multi-Room Like You’ve Never Known It Before
There are some things that just seem to be too futuristic to be able to enjoy right now. Virtual reality may be coming in headsets, but we’re still decades away from being able to plug ourselves into a machine, Tron-style. There may be a hoverboard created by Lexus, but as it only works in their special Hoverpark, this isn’t something that you can treat yourself to for Christmas just yet. Aren’t multi-room speakers in exactly the same category?
Well, not really. KitSound have just released the Link, a simple and stylish looking box that has incredible technology packed inside it that can completely transform your home into a multi-room experience. It may sound complicated, but actually it is remarkably easy to set up, and once it is done a whole world of musical opportunities will open up to you.
For a start, the Link will work with any speaker that has an aux-in, or a headphone jack. That means that you can radically update that hi-fi that you can’t bear to part with, and that boombox that you never wanted to throw out, and make them instantly Bluetooth compatible.
As well as that, the Link means that you can group speakers together, so if you are throwing a party you can have the same track going on all in all your rooms – or you can keep things quieter in one room by ungrouping them with a simple tap in the free app.
When your friends are over, they can contribute to the playlist too, by simply connecting to your Wi-Fi. There are a wide range of different apps that are compatible with the Link, such as Spotify, Napster, and Rhapsody. With a simple flick, your friends can add their favourite tracks to the playlist, creating a truly collaborative vibe.
This is multi-room like you’ve never known before, and we think that it’s pretty awesome. What do you think? What would be your first song to add to your friends’ playlist? Let us know in the comments below!
