There are very few people in the world that actually wake up looking forward to going to the gym. Now that we’re passed halfway through January, many of those New Year’s resolutions will start to look very irritating and unnecessary, which is why we are bringing you five ways to get fit without the need to sign up, get up early, or give up on your New Year’s resolutions.
1. Eat breakfast
We’ve all heard the phrase that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but it really is true! Jumping start your metabolism is such a great way to get fit, and it will only start when you first eat, so start the clock early and eat breakfast!
2. Walk to work
You may not like it, but in fact just adding thirty minutes of exercise per day can massively help you to lose weight. That’s not hard to do, and if you live quite a way from work then get off the train, bus, or tube one step early. That’s all you need.
3. Take the stairs
Yes, the escalator may look very tempting, but the stairs won’t kill you, and just making that one change in your day can actually increase the number of steps you take from almost none to thousands with just that one change.
4. Drop the email
Go and talk to someone! Yes, some of those conversations need to happen over email so that everyone can be kept informed, but often a huge amount can be agreed in person, and standing up, walking to their desk, and back will soon add up.
5. Lose your car keys
Don’t worry, we don’t think that you should lose them permanently! But trying to give up the car keys for the weekend will suddenly open your eyes to how much you can include walking into your weekend, helping you to get fit.
