Exertis (UK) Ltd meets the definition of a producer under the WEEE Regulations, requiring us to ensure compliance with these Regulations. Businesses who place electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) on the UK market for the first time by importing, manufacturing, rebranding or distance selling are considered producers under the regulations.
The UK WEEE Regulations were first introduced in 2007 with the aim of reducing the amount of EEE ending up in landfill and making producers responsible for collecting, treating and recovery of waste electrical equipment. In accordance with the Regulations, Exertis (UK) provides arrangements for the recovery and recycling of WEEE when it reaches the end of its life, and we ensure our EEE products are marked accordingly with a crossed- out wheelie bin symbol.
Exertis (UK) Ltd complies with its responsibilities as a registered member of UK Government approved ERP UK WEEE Compliance Scheme. The scheme takes on the producer’s legal compliance and works with them to ensure all necessary steps have been taken to achieve compliance, including data submissions to the Environment Agency and procurement of recycling evidence.

What does the crossed-out wheelie bin symbol mean?
The crossed-out wheelie bin symbol is there to remind you that old electrical equipment can be recycled. Please do not throw any electrical equipment (including those marked with the crossed out wheelie bin symbol) in your bin. Instead, you can take it to your local Recycling Centre. How can Exertis help?
If you already have a product you are replacing when purchasing from us, Exertis (UK) Ltd will take back your old product and dispose of it safely, free of charge. In this case you must return the original item to us within 28 days of the purchase of the new item. You are responsible for shipping your old electrical product to us. This includes all shipping costs.
